What is ZN Single Screw Pump？

The ZN series is a positive displacement screw pump that combines a progressing cavity configuration with a specialized rotor and stator assembly within a single structure. Utilizing an eccentric rotating screw shaft inside a flexible elastic stator, this positive displacement unit eliminates shearing risks to handle shear-sensitive media smoothly. Engineered as a high-performance sludge transfer pump, it easily moves high-viscosity fluids, thick sludges, and liquids containing large solid particles. Q1: Can this ZN pump run in reverse to clear blockages or clean pipes?

Yes, the ZN single screw pump can run both clockwise and counter-clockwise. Reversing the motor direction changes the flow direction instantly, which makes it very convenient to clear pipeline blockages or flush out remaining fluids after operation.

Q2: Why is the speed range for the ZN series lower (100–430 r/min) compared to standard water pumps?

Standard water pumps run at 1450 or 2900 RPM, but progressive cavity pumps transfer high-viscosity or abrasive sludge. Running at lower speeds (100–430 RPM) significantly slows down friction wear on the rubber stator and steel rotor, drastically extending the pump’s service life.

Q3: What are the main wearable parts for the ZN pump, and how often should they be replaced?

The primary wear parts are the rubber stator and internal universal joint, mechanical seal, and so on. Replacement frequency depends on fluid abrasiveness, but having a spare stator and seal kit on hand ensures minimal downtime when routine maintenance is required.

Q4: Can I use this pump for liquids with high temperature or extreme pH levels?

Yes, but the liquid temperature and chemical properties dictate the stator material and pressure level. For standard fluids, standard NBR is fine (up to 80°C). For hot fluids or strong acids/alkalis, specialized EPDM or FKM stators must be selected to prevent rubber swelling or degradation.
